Joseph Beguiristain

Joe Beguiristain is a 2L at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. He serves as Managing Editor on the Florida Law Review and is the outgoing President of UF Law’s Association of Law and Business. The last two summers, Joe interned for the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C.

Prior to entering law school, Joe was a collegiate soccer player at Rollins College, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). At Rollins, Joe served as President of the Interfraternity Council and was named as the “Fraternity & Sorority Life Leader of the Year.” As a Miami native, Joe enjoys following Miami sports teams and spending time near the ocean with family and friends.

Danielle Hall

Danielle is a 2L at the University of Miami School of Law. During her second year of law school, Danielle served as the Law Student Liaison of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, Professional Development Chair of the Black Law Students Association, and a 1L Community Leader for the UPLIFT Program. Additionally, Danielle remained active in the local community serving as a Legal Intern for the Tenants’ Rights Clinic at Legal Services of Greater Miami and a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Chief Magistrate Judge John J. O’Sullivan in the Southern District of Florida.

Prior to law school, Danielle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Social & Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Afterwards, she served as a college advisor to high school students in Dallas, Texas. Last summer, Danielle participated in the Summer Associate Program at Bilzin Sumberg and she is thrilled to return for her second summer. In the upcoming academic year, Danielle will join the Executive Board of the University of Miami’s Race and Social Justice Law Review as the Business & Online Managing Editor and participate as a mentor for the First-Generation Law Students Association. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys hiking with her puppy, traveling with friends, and relaxing on the beach.

David Jessup, Jr.

David Jessup, Jr. is a 2L student at the University of Miami School of Law. David has committed to the school’s Business of Innovation, Law, and Technology (BILT) track and to the school’s pro bono and non-law community service challenges. David received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for the Investor Rights Clinic and Startup Law and Entrepreneurship. David has completed 229 pro bono hours, exceeding the 75-hour requirement for graduation recognition. David is a proud member of OUTLaw, he is currently leading development efforts for We Robot 2021, and he volunteers with UM’s First Star Academy, a regional affiliate of First Star: College Readiness Programs for Foster Children.

Last summer, David participated in the ABA’s Judicial Internship Opportunity Program (JIOP) and he was a student intern with the school’s Investor Rights Clinic.

A nontraditional law student, David spent the last decade of his professional career in the nonprofit and public sectors. David was a 2009 Miami-Dade Teach For America corps member before he joined an international nonprofit working to ensure all children had access to laptops. As project manager, David launched the nonprofit’s first U.S. effort here in Liberty City. With support from foundation and corporate sponsors, the effort expanded to Charlotte, North Carolina. David spent seven years in the Queen City, implementing the laptop initiative, launching and leading Digi-Bridge, and executing the Mayor’s vision for youth workforce development by catalyzing a number of public-private partnerships. In this role, David also worked with Bloomberg Cities to pilot Charlotte’s first “smart district” before returning home to Miami for law school.

Driven by data and Diet Coke, David is a relationship builder with an entrepreneurial spirit. He recently cocreated FirstGen5.com, a resource for first generation students of the law. David looks forward to building relationships with the Bilzin team this summer.

Saron Musa

Saron Musa is a 2L at Emory University School of Law. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in International Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies and a minor in Economics. She spent her last summer virtually working for Home Depot’s in-house legal department.

At Emory, as a 2L she served as a Co-Social Advocacy Specialist for the Black Law Students Association and the Conference Committee Chair for the Legal Association of Women Students. She’s also an active member of Emory’s Moot Court Society and will serve as one of the Directors of Emory’s Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition in the Fall. She works as a House Coordinator, which helps incoming students get acclimated to law school and connect current students to pertinent resources. In her free time, Saron enjoys sewing, painting, and listening to podcasts.

Lucas Pizzutti

Lucas is a 1L at the George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C. Last summer Lucas was working with a local Miami public relations and lobbying firm that was involved in the successful advocacy of various local project in the Miami-Dade region.

Prior to law school, Lucas graduated magna cum laude in 2019 from Florida International University, earning a degree in Political Science and after graduation, worked in political campaigns and lobbying efforts all around Miami-Dade County, in which he garnered an interest in Public-Private Partnership and government relations law. In his spare time, Lucas enjoys cooking, drinking one (or maybe two) of his favorite Islay Scotches, and swimming.

John Trach

John Trach is currently a 2L at the University of Virginia School of Law where he is the Executive Editor of the Virginia Law & Business Review, CFO of Rivanna Investments, and a Peer Advisor for the class of 2024. He was also a member of the winning Venture Capital Competition team, organized by the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

John was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida. Before law school, he graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship. After graduating, he worked at a private wealth management firm and then at an assisted living facility. He then graduated from London Business School with an M.B.A. From there, he worked at the Walt Disney Company, ran a small residential real estate company, led a pre-revenue startup, ran the West Palm Beach field office for a U.S. Congressional campaign, and co-launched a Haitian-American cultural celebration event.

John enjoys spending time with his fiancée and his Siberian Husky. He also likes trying new restaurants, recipes, coffees, and watching Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins games.
