David De La Flor is currently a 2L at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law). He attended the University of Florida as an undergraduate and majored in Economics. Soon after graduating from UF, he began working for HSBC Bank, where he was part of a yearlong trainee program aimed at sharpening his sales and client management skills. During his time with HSBC, he became a registered representative, earning his Series 7 license, as well as an insurance and annuities license. He was with HSBC for three years before enrolling in law school.
Since beginning his studies at Berkeley Law, he has participated in various student organizations and clinics. He was part of the California Asylum Representation Clinic, where he provided assistance to a Central American client seeking asylum. He is currently the Articles Editor for Berkeley La Raza Law Journal, a journal focused on issues affecting the Latino community in the U.S. and around the world. Last summer, he interned for International Rights Advocates, an international organization that litigates corporate violations of human rights in U.S. courts, at its Quito, Ecuador offices. He performed extensive legal research under the Alien Tort Claims Act, and wrote legal memoranda on several issues. Last semester he completed an internship with the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration, where he investigated 401K plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and trustees and drafted and submitted subpoenas, reviewed documents, and identified ERISA violations.
During his time off, David likes to read and play intramural flag football. He is a big Florida Gators football fan, as well as an avid Seinfeld watcher.

Veronica Gordon is a 1L at Vanderbilt Law School. She is the incoming President for La Alianza and a member of the International Law Society and Women Law Students Association. Veronica spent a summer as an education and labor policy intern for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute at the office of Congressman Raul Grijalva. She grew up in Miami Beach, FL and attended Yale University, where she majored in Political Science and graduated cum laude. Veronica is a native Spanish speaker and enjoys painting, drawing, political discussions and traveling.

Michael Levine is a 2L at the University of Miami School of Law. Although he is currently a ‘Cane, having attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies, he’ll always be a Gator. He is a member of the University of Miami Law Review and the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board. Last summer he interned with the United States Attorney’s Office in the Narcotics Division. This past fall he was a judicial intern for the Honorable Paul C. Huck and a law clerk at Legal Services of Greater Miami in the Tenants’ Rights Clinic.
Outside of law school he enjoys going to the beach, spending time with his friends and family, and is an avid sports fan. He also loves to travel and has been fortunate enough to backpack through Europe, Southeast Asia and Israel.
He is excited for the summer and looks forward to meeting everyone at the firm.

Kyle is returning to the firm for a second summer. Kyle was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. He attended the University of Florida and completed a four year combined degree program, where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Finance. While at the University of Florida, he held positions as Vice President and Finance Committee Chair for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Upon earning his graduate degree, he secured a position as an Equity Analyst at Merrill Lynch’s Investment Bank in Manhattan. During his time at Merrill Lynch he worked on the trading floor as Sales Trader.
Kyle currently attends New York University School of Law as a 2L and last summer, he was a 1L summer associate with our firm. The previous summer, he was an SEO Corporate Summer Associate with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York.

Amy Podolsky is a 2L at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She graduated from the University of Florida with her bachelor’s degree in English. Following college graduation, she spent two years teaching seventh and eighth grade language arts in Washington, D.C. through the Teach for America program. During the summer after her 1L year, she externed in West Palm Beach for the Honorable James M. Hopkins of the Southern District of Florida. In addition to being an active member of the Florida Moot Court Team, she is also an editor for the Journal of Technology Law and Policy and just completed a position as a teaching assistant for the first-year Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy courses.

Shalia Sakona is a 2L at Boston College Law School where she works as a staff writer and note editor for the BOSTON COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL & COMPARATIVE LAW REVIEW. She grew up in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Shalia graduated American University summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Law and Society and Musical Theatre. Last summer, she interned with the General Counsel for Finard Properties, a regional property development and management corporation. In her free time, she enjoys singing, acting, dancing, and playing tennis. She recently recorded the female lead in the original cast album of a new musical.
