Lucas Fernandez-Rocha

Lucas Fernandez-Rocha is a 1L at Duke University School of Law. At Duke, Lucas is an active member of the Business Law Society, for which he will serve as the incoming Vice President of Events, and the Hispanic Law Student Association.

Last summer, Lucas worked as a SEO Law Fellow for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City. Before law school, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida in 2017 with a double major in History and Spanish. He grew up in Miami, Florida and is a proud alumnus of Belen Jesuit.

 

Benjamin Mitchel

Ben Mitchel is a 2L at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he is a Managing Editor on the Florida Law Review. Ben also serves as a teaching assistant for Appellate Advocacy. Last summer, Ben worked as a legal extern for the Honorable Dave Brannon, Magistrate Judge for the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Before law school, Ben graduated cum laude from the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing basketball, watching sports, and reading.

 

 

Eric Reissi

Eric Reissi is a 2L at the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a member of the Virginia Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and Virginia Law Veterans. Eric is returning to Bilzin Sumberg for his second summer.

Eric was raised in Boca Raton, Florida. Before law school, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminology. He then commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for five years. As a Marine Officer, Eric managed joint air defense systems overseas and gained exposure to the military justice system as a command legal officer. After transitioning out of the Marine Corps in 2016, he worked as a summer legal intern for a law firm in Washington, D.C. before beginning his studies at the University of Virginia School of Law.

 

Devin Rivero 

Devin Rivero is a 1L at the University of Virginia School of Law. At UVA, Devin is a member of the Virginia Law & Business Review Editorial Board, the Virginia Mock Trial Team, the Virginia Innocence Project Pro Bono Clinic, and Legal Aid’s JustChildren Intake Pro Bono Project. She is involved with the Latin American Law Organization and Virginia Law Women. During her 1L winter break, Devin was a legal intern at the Cuban American Bar Association Pro Bono Project where she worked on cases involving unaccompanied immigrant children in the U.S.

Before law school, Devin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a B.A. in criminology and minors in English and political science. She completed a thesis on the prevalence of sexual assault at her university, was elected the Outstanding Member of the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and graduated with Departmental Honors. Her past experiences include summer internships at a boutique litigation firm, Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, and Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse in the Unified Family Court Division. Devin also studied abroad in Rome, Italy. She is a South Florida native and enjoys baking, cheering on the ‘Canes, and spending time with her family.

 

Brianna Sainte

Brianna Sainte is a 2L at the University of Miami School of Law. She was recently elected 11th Circuit Editor of the University of Miami Law Review. Briana serves on the Honor Council. She is serving as a Dean’s Fellow for Criminal Procedure for the Spring semester of 2018, and served as one for Civil Procedure for the fall semester of 2017. Her time was also spent participating in a writing program with elementary students entitled Books and Buddies. She received the Dean’s Award for Legal Communications and Research I in the Fall of 2016.

Last summer, Brianna was a judicial internship for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres in the Southern District of Florida. Before law school, she graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science. She enjoys reading Marvel Comics, watching reality TV, and traveling.
