2020 Summer Associates

Sophia Guzzo

Sophia Guzzo is a 2L at Harvard Law School and this is her second summer at Bilzin Sumberg. At Harvard, Sophia is the Social Chair for La Alianza, the Latinx group on campus, a member of the Board of Student Advisors, a Teaching Assistance, and a Research Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys running and training for half marathons, cooking, and reading fiction.

Sophia is originally from Miami and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2018. As an undergraduate student, she interned at Isicoff, Ragatz and Koenigsberg in Miami, which prompted her interest in attending law school.

Savannah Gribbins

Savannah Gribbins is a 2L at the University of Florida Levin College of Law on a Governor’s Scholarship. She is the outgoing President of her school’s American Civil Liberties Union chapter.

Before law school, she studied Journalism at the University of Florida and worked as a producer and reporter for National Public Radio on WUFT 89.1FM. She is interested in antitrust law and represented UF at the Global Antitrust Institute Invitational Moot Court Competition. In her spare time, she enjoys the work of Thomas Piketty and Rutger Bregman.

Danielle Hall

Danielle Hall is a 1L student at the University of Miami School of Law. In her first semester, she earned the Dean’s List distinction and the Dean’s Academic Achievement Award for both Legal Communications & Research I and Elements. Danielle is an active member of the law school community and serves as the UNetworking Chair for Breakfast with the Bench and a Community Service Committee member for the Black Law Student Association.

Additionally, Danielle gives back to the local community with her involvement in the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program. As a first-generation college student, Danielle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Social & Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her undergraduate career, Danielle studied abroad in Manchester, United Kingdom, where she developed her passion for the law while pursuing legal coursework. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys watching Carolina basketball games, relaxing on the beach, and taking her puppy on long walks.

Andrés Rivero

Andrés Rivero is a 2L at New York University School of Law. He is a Moelis Urban Law & Public Affairs Fellow and a research assistant at NYU’s Furman Center, focusing on land use, housing, and local government issues. Andrés also serves as an Articles Editor for the Annual Survey of American Law. Last summer, he worked on public-private financing deals for affordable housing as a legal intern at the New York City Housing Development Corporation.

Prior to law school, Andrés taught social studies at Carol City Middle School as a Teach for America corps member, and later worked on the staff of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. Andrés is a proud Miami native. He graduated from Emory University in 2014 with a B.A. in Political Science.

Alexa Tirse

Alexa is a rising third-year student at Cornell Law School. A Miami native, Alexa spent last summer as a Law Clerk at Zumpano Patricios, where she discovered her love for litigation.

In 2018, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.A. in English and minor in French and Francophone Studies. While at UF, Alexa was inducted as a member of Florida Blue Key. In the fall, she will spend the semester as a Legal Intern for District Court Judge Roy Altman.

John Trach 

John Trach is currently a 1L at the University of Virginia School of Law where he is on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law and Business Review. He was a member of the winning Venture Capital Competition team, organized by the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

John was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida. Before law school, he graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship. After graduating, he worked at a private wealth management firm and then at an assisted living facility. He then graduated from London Business School with an M.B.A. From there, he worked at the Walt Disney Company, ran a small residential real estate company, led a pre-revenue startup, ran the West Palm Beach field office for a U.S. Congressional campaign, and co-launched a Haitian-American cultural celebration event.

John enjoys spending time with his fiancée and his Siberian Husky. He also likes trying new restaurants, recipes, coffees, and watching Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins games.
